Bought the following two books during a trip to the bookstore on the second day of Chinese New Year:
1. Strings Attached: One Tough Teacher and the Art of Perfection by Joanne Lipman and Melanie Kupchynsky. It was the “Gems of the Month” in the bookstore, and I was attracted to its theme on education and facing the challenges of life.
2. The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer. I went to the bookstore primarily to search for this book, since it was recommended by various book reviewers and it is the Costa Book Awards winner for 2013.
On another note, just finished reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I am surprised (and still recovering from it) by the depth of the book as I didn’t expect such insight for a Young Adult fiction. Yeah, I was still stuck in the memory of Sweet Valley University when I see the “Young Adult” category.
