For One More Day

If you have one more day to live, how would you spend this day? Who would you spend it with? What difference would it have made?

I just finished reading Mitch Albom’s For One More Day. I fell in love with Albom’s writings since Tuesdays with Morrie, which I find to be an inspiring must-read. For One More Day explores similar issues – what matters most in life and living without regrets. However, I find that Albom’s latest book does not have the sincerity and simplicity which I encountered in Tuesdays with Morrie. Perhaps this is the problem with expectations.

Nevertheless, For One More Day is a worthwhile read, especially for those who have not been exploring their relationship with their loved ones. It reminds us how we could have prioritized the wrong things, and how we may have neglected things which really mattered. It is also a story about a family with its secrets, as every family has its secrets. It is about family ties lost and found. The storyline might not be realistic, but the issues that it discussed are real and close to heart.
